IMG in a nutshell
The International Management Group – IMG is an international organization that enjoys all the privileges and immunities granted by the international law. It was established in 1994 in Geneva by 15 States[1] together with the EC and UNHCR support to address the specific challenges of the reconstruction of Bosnia-Herzegovina following the conflict in the Western Balkans. Since that time IMG has progressively extended both the geographical coverage and scope of its interventions, and today it covers an extensive field of activities in public infrastructure, institutional and capacity building, law enforcement, technical assistance, IT, business development, education and environment.
By its very nature, IMG is a non-profit public entity, whose activities are financed through Donor contributions and development cooperation public funds.
The governance of the organization is overseen by a Standing Committee, composed of representatives of the Member States, while the operational management is entrusted to a General Manager.
IMG operates in close cooperation with the national authorities of the countries concerned and meets the most demanding ethical standards in terms of transparency, donor visibility, best practices, and rigorous financial management.
